In addition, he has achieved advanced ultrasound certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), as well as being certified as a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He is the only Interventional Radiologist in North Houston and the Rio Grande Valley that has received formal residency training in ultrasound, in addition to holding the certifications required to perform and interpret vascular ultrasound examinations at the highest level. This unique skill set combination allows him to both accurately diagnose and treat patients with the best possible outcomes.

Prior to founding The Vein Doctors, Dr.Radhakrishnan was the Chief of Interventional Radiology at The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he successfully led the rebuilding of a large department in a tertiary medical center. Dr. Radhakrishnan is a veteran and Major of the United States Army Medical Corps, where he served as Chief of Ultrasound at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC, and received numerous accolades including the prestigious Army Commendation Medal for his role as Chief of Radiology at the 48th Combat Support Hospital in Bagram, Afghanistan. He was also one of ten physicians selected from across the nation to participate in the 1st Annual Leadership Academy of The American Vein and Lymphatic Society- the premier association of vein care professionals dedicated to treating venous disease. As a result of his efforts as an active educator of vein disease in the state of Texas, he now serves as the Chairman of the Public Education Committee at The American Vein and Lymphatic Society, and is now involved in public education of vein disease on a national level as well.

During his free time, Dr.Radhakrishnan enjoys spending time with his wife and children, traveling, and cooking. He is also an avid tennis player, and can be seen watching his sons compete in tournaments all over Texas on the weekends.
